12°- a Portable Soft Lamp

An envelope can be changed into a lamp within just several steps, the 12° portable lamp gives you an unprecedented experience of using light


An envelope can be changed into a lamp within just several steps, the 12° portable lamp gives you an unprecedented experience of using light. The 12° portable lamp consists of two main parts: packaging (also the lamppost) and the OLED panel, both parts are closely integrated with each other through the whole lifecycle of the product, which minimizes the usage of resources and strengthen the eco-friendly impression of OLED technology.

The soft sense of both the OLED light and the lamp itself gives you humanized touch of the technology; the resource minimized design strengthen the eco-friendly impression of the lighting technology. With an elegant angle of 12° and its slim body, the 12° portable lamp is suitable in both interior and exterior environment, give you an unprecedented experience while using light.

The 12° portable lamp makes the full use of OLED characteristics: eco-friendly, super light and thin, good quality of light and simple. The energy saving reflects in every step during the whole lifecycle of the product:

1. During the production and retailing process, the flat, thin, and light product (packaging and OLED panel inside) can be easily assembled and transported, makes the energy saving at most. The packaging uses felt material absorbs vibration and protect the OLED panel.

2. Once you’ve bought it and take it home, the packaging could be folded easily as a lamppost with an elegant angle of 12°, thus forming the whole product without any waste production during the usage.

3. When you go out it’s convenient to take away for an outside reading and working light resource, just unfold the packaging and put the OLED panel back inside it, like putting elegantly a letter into an envelope. The size 15cm*21cm perfectly match with your cellphone/tablet/books and can be put into your favorite handbag/case.

Risks and Challenges

The challenge here is how to charge the OLED panel, as the idea is to create a "portable" lamp, I was thinking to use solar energy panel to recharge the battery to maximize the eco-friendly sense of this lamp. But this raise the cost of the project and it'll be a bit difficult for me to develop. So I'd like to ask help from crowd funding so as to develop the final product and try to launch on market.
